Our 5-week autumn course will get you trained and assessed for BASI Level 2 before Christmas, giving you the opportunity to work the winter season. You will need to arrive already having a BASI level 1 pass, and we will then continue your journey through the BASI system; improving your piste performance skiing, develop the teaching and demo skills required to become a ski instructor, and in addition will include race training in gates, freestyle training, off-piste training and avalanche safety training. The whole course takes place in Cervinia, Italy, on the snow-sure Zermatt Glacier, including the exam elements which are conducted by independent examiners from BASI.

If you take our catered package, then you will be staying in the lovely Petit Palais Hotel. A modern and recently renovated 3-star hotel, just a few steps from the main ski lifts and just a few minutes from the town centre. We love it here, the staff are super helpful, the en-suite bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, and there is a large lounge bar and a small gym.
The thing our students love most about staying here is lunch and dinner in the hotel restaurant. The restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat buffet with loads of choices. The Italians like lots of courses, so you can expect a salad bar, cold meats and cheeses, soups, pasta dishes, mains of fish/meat and veg, as well as fruit and dessert. You won’t go hungry.
On our Autumn BASI level 1 & 2 ski instructor courses we offer a fantastic level 3 scholarship prize! In addition to our King or Queen prizes for the best overall improvement, we also offer an additional 1-off award to the candidate that shows the most potential to progress onward through the BASI system. The scholarship* is for 4 FREE weeks of BASI level 3 ISIA training to be taken the following Autumn. This will allow that sponsored and winning trainee instructor to progress onward and upward further into their career as a professional ski instructor.
*PLEASE NOTE – The ISIA BASI level 3 scholarship offer is for 4 weeks ‘training’ only, thus travel, accommodation, lift pass is the responsibility and expense of the trainee. The 4 weeks free training are to be taken the following Autumn and are non-transferable.
Time to step up the speed! Race training is the best way to develop all four of the ‘Performance Threads’ needed for BASI level 2. ‘Technical’ – a full week developing the skills of carving and edge control, perfect for BASI level 2. ‘Psychological’ – increasing your threshold with the buzz of flying past the gates and the progressive increase of speed. ‘Physical’ – our off-snow fitness sessions will be nurturing the athlete within you and thus make you a better skier and give you the competitive edge! ‘Tactical’ – you will gain knowledge about speed and line – the where and when of ski racing.
The last two weeks under the Snoworks PRO family are a fantastic combination of getting your ‘Teaching hours’ with ‘Mock lessons’ and further study time, to prepare you and give you great confidence in delivering the ski lessons for your level 2 exam, also helping you feel super ready for your season teaching that winter. We combine this with more technical training in any areas you need to individually develop to be in the best possible position to succeed at the level 2 technical standard.
The BASI level 2 exam is an 8-day course. If/when successfully gained, will allow you to teach skiing around the world, with potential ski instructor job opportunities in Japan, Canada and Europe (depending on our passport).
IMPORTANT: Students that are unfortunately unsuccessful at BASI level 2 will have to take further training following their action plan and then take a re-assessment at their own cost at a later date. Continued support and advice will be given towards the best way to move forward.
